We here at Anthropology records are proud to announce our first release: Wckr Spgt (pronounced wicker spigot). The tape, "Spgtmuzik" contains thirty original songs which were recorded between 10/84 and 1/85 in Mark's room. We hope you enjoy the music and even if you don't, write and tell us what you thought about it.
We're planning the release of a compilation tape in June, 85. If you have a band, send us a tape by May 30th. Any music will be accepted, as long as it's original and interesting. Don't expect any $money$, because we don't have any.
Remember, IF IT'S ON "ANTHROPOLOGY", IT'S REALLY GOOD!

Notes for the 1994 Wckr Spgt Multimediums release of Wckr Spgt's "Spgtmuzik"!

THE ELECTRIC NEEDLE, YOU'LL HAVE TO LIE, HAPPY HOUR, FRENZY, and EDDIE COCHRAN were recorded during the "Sleeth Session", a chaotic endeavor in early 1985. WHAT I COULD DO TO YOU AND YES, ALCOHOL were included on the infamous "I ❤ Pomona" compilation from Bob Durkee's Fartblossom label. COLD BUBBLES and SAN LUIS OBISBO (sic) feature Gary Murphy on bass. CHARTER was written by Caroline and she sings it. JON THE COW was written by Cash Nexus and he sings that one. HOWARD / VALIUM is a short opera about The Reverend Howard. HAPPY DEATH SONG is really 12 minutes long.

This was the first release for the newly-formed Anthropology Records. "Spgtmuzik" documents a precarious transitional phase for Wckr Spgt. and introduces several elements that would soon become earmarks of the "new sound" of Spgt. The most ambitious project to this point, "SPGTMUZIK" captured a moment and preserved it perfectly.
