Notes
I can't tell you much about Beth Israel, at least no more than you can conclude yourself after listening. The band, which consist of (I believe) three men, hails from Austin, TX. At times I'm reminded of the industrial rawness of Butthole Surfers' Rembrandt Pussyhorse, at it's noisiest I hear a Dead C influence, but it's the slow-motion dreariness in track's like "Wise Acre" that have me coming back for repeat listens. Not to pigeonhole the band with comparisons; this is really unique and interesting stuff. This cassette is the debut for Beth Israel, and I'm proud to have them as the first release on Dull Tools by a band that neither Chris nor I are members of.-Andrew Savage
