Back Cover Notes: Johnny Long's Orchestra is the most copied band in the country. This is the sincerest form of flattery. His brand of "jive lyrics" set to well known tunes, was originated by the band in the late '30's. Since that time other name bands, singing groups, and small combos too have used the identical lyrics. At any party or college get-together, you will undoubtedly hear one or two of his special lyrics sung. Numbers like "SHANTYTOWN," "WHEN I GROW TOO OLD TO DREAM," "SIN TO TELL A LIE" are practically collectors items. Now, with this album, he is presenting the same "jive lyrics" but in a modern musical setting. An updated version of your old favorites, plus several new ones included for good measure.
