John Fahres arrived on the Mid-Atlantic music scene in the early 1990's, bringing a sound that has been described as ‘combining 1950's rockabilly flair with flourishes of contemporary style’, with ample turns given to roots-rock, pop, folk, and even punk along the way. However, consigning him to ‘singer/songwriter’ status would be a mistake. His performances merge elements reminiscent of Elvis Costello, Tom Petty, and Barenaked Ladies.
