My possibly definitive statement from the pre-pedalboard days, as I learned how to play solo in Oakland. From the 2007 Wholly Other mail order catalog description: "Four live (mostly) improvised guitar & lap steel pieces, shimmering modal folk/blues/raga frameworks collapsing under the weight of myriad microsounds, ebows, & slides and reforming into quietly pulsing, interlocking networks. A summation of all the solo fretwork motion up to the point where that approach was back-burnered in favor of collaborative efforts, wah, & electro harmonix.
