YGAM presents - "dziga_" - the debut album from H4N, released on CD & Digital format.

"dziga_", the debut album from H4N, is a tribute to hip-hop. Half way between repetition's mechanical process, and the organic nature of funk, jazz, blues, and traditional music that constitute its filiation, hip-hop bears the human being constant evolution's imprint. Its shadow hovers over each of the album's tracks, and although the mode of composition seems relatively remove from it, it is incontestably in hip-hop that H4N finds its source of inspiration.
The album gets its name from the famous twentieth century Russian filmmaker David Abelevich, better known as Dziga Vertov, which means the spinning top. As the filmmaker, fascinated by the machine, H4N draws from the concept of Vertov's mechanical eye. This eye which approaches and pulls away from objects, coordinates any and all points of the universe and invests in the montage's process as a true virtuoso, playing on the rhythm of association and duration. It is first around the beat, the rhythmic and melodic loop that the beatmaker makes his album. But, as man is destined to finitude, it is only thanks to the machine that this beat can exist in a timelessness ensuring a perpetual beat. The place of man is then questioned in a mechanical universe. At once creator and slave, he is reduced to the simple status of cogwheel, which still finds the strength to exist only through variations and melodic timbres, which act as a psychic remedy to the crushing contemporary society in which man and the beatmaker evolve.
"dziga_" is the incessant spinning top.
