"The manuscript of this transcription is in Los Angeles among the documents left by
Schönberg with the "Verein für musikalische Privataufführungen". It is uncertain who the
arranger was. It is certain, however, that is was made with Schönberg's knowledge and
approval, because we know from Hans Heinz Stuckenschmidt that a performance took
place after the 27th October 1920. The handwriting suggests several members of the
Association who may have made this arrangement. Volker Scherliess believes Hanns
Eisler to be the most probable. [...]"
